Luis Roberts
Once again, it was one of the younger men who caught the eye and not for the first time, it was Luis Roberts. The young outside back came up with some really good plays during the contest, producing several important try-line tackles including a try-saver on Shaun Kenny-Dowall that he had to right to make. He came up with an important intercept that Leeds couldn't capitalise upon but on an afternoon when Leeds were clunky, Roberts did a good job once again. Physically he had a few mismatches but nothing to be unexpected given the stage he's at in his career.
Jarrod O'Connor
While this isn't intended to be as back-handed complimented as it may come across, there wasn't a flurry of options here. But credit to O'Connor, who came on and produced a heap of energy that gave the Rhinos something like a spark they rarely showed all afternoon. He forced an error with a big tackle, hunted down Mikey Lewis superbly when he broke away and injected some energy around the ruck with some quick scoots. A good performance.
Leon Ruan
Probably the highlight of the pre-season games. The man from League 1 side Doncaster has established himself in the minds with some encouraging displays in the four games so far. The athletic teenager scored the only try for the Rhinos and it was a great finish for good measure, holding off several men to touch down right in the corner. He probably won't be in the mix to play in round one but he's done his short to mid-term prospects no harm.
