Police are appealing for witnesses over a Gateshead crash which saw a car hit a tree and left three in hospital last weekend.
Two women and a man have been treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries following the incident, which involved one vehicle and took place in Banesley Lane, Lamesley on June 10 at around 1.10am. Police do not yet know why the blue Citroen DS3 involved left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
Northumbria Police now wants anyone who saw the incident and especially anyone with dashcam footage to come forward to assist the investigation.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers investigating a serious collision in Gateshead that left three people with injuries in hospital have appealed for information. At about 1.10am on Saturday (June 10), officers received a report of a one-vehicle road traffic collision on Banesley Lane, Lamesley.
"For reasons yet to be established, a blue Citreon DS3 car had left the carriageway and collided with a tree. Two females and a male have subsequently received treatment in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances surrounding the collision, and police are asking anybody who witnessed the incident to come forward. Members of the public are asked to check any dashcam footage and get in touch if you see anything that may assist the ongoing investigation."
