Three people rushed to hospital as gardai attend two serious crashes in Co Donegal

Gardai attended the scene of two serious road collisions in Co Donegal on Monday.

One woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash at Casey, Dunfanaghy on Monday afternoon.

The incident involved a car and a tractor.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 50s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital by emergency helicopter where she is being treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor was treated for his injuries at the scene.

"A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Milford attended a serious RTC at Casey, Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal this afternoon Monday 17th January, 2022.

"A car and tractor collided and the female driver (50's) of the car was airlifted to Letterkenny University Hospital with serious injuries. The male driver (age unknown) of the tractor received medical attention at the scene.

"Investigations ongoing."

Elsewhere, gardai in Donegal attended another collision in the county on Monday afternoon.

A lorry and a car were involved in the crash on the N15 in Laghey at around 4.10pm.

Two road users were taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment, with the extent of their injuries not yet known.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attended the scene of a collision on the N15 in Laghey, Co. Donegal this afternoon, Monday 16th January 2022 at approximately 4.10pm.

"The collision involved an articulated lorry and a car. Two persons were taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

"Investigations are ongoing."
