Three people rescued from Aberdeen flat after late night blaze

Firefighters rescued three people from a burning building in a Scots city last night.

Emergency crews were called out following a fire at a block of flats in Aberdeen.

The ground floor of Peacock's Court, near the Aberdeen Health Village, was affected by the blaze at around 9pm on Monday, April 11.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service removed residents from the block and extinguished the fire.

A total of six appliances were called out and the three people rescued were checked over by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel.

At this time it is unclear how the blaze occurred.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.02pm on Monday, April 11 to reports of a fire that had taken hold within a ground floor flat.

“Operations Control mobilised six appliances and a height appliance to Peacock's Court, East North Street in Aberdeen.

“Firefighters assisted three people from the building and transferred them to the care of ambulance personnel."
