Three motorhomes fell into a fast-flowing river when the embankment collapsed at an RV park following heavy storms.
The incident happened at the Valencia Travel Village RV Resort in California, where two RVs fell into the Santa Clara River in the middle of the night.
Park officials then began moving other vehicles away from the river, but another motorhome was swept away before it could be taken to safety.
The park lost water and electricity during the storm, although remarkably nobody was injured.
Ventura County Air Unit posted footage of an RV lying on its side on Twitter as they responded to the incident.
Footage of one of the motorhomes falling straight into the river under an eroding embankment was captured by Eyewitness News.
In the video, large chunks of the embankment can be seen collapsing into fast-flowing river.
People staying at the park told ABC7 that they had been stunned by how fast the river had washed away the embankment.
"I'm actually travelling from Bakersfield and I can't get to work right now because of the snow... I haven't been able to get back and forth to work for a couple of days and also, I'm kind of afraid we're going to have to evacuate if it gets any worse," said Karissa Johnson.
California has been plunged into a state of emergency as storms cover it in almost 42ft of snow.
Governor Gavin Newsom was forced to take drastic action as a series of extreme weather has struck the west coast, burying southern California's mountain communities and stranding thousands of residents.
Up to 90 million residents have been placed under a freeze warning while dozens have been rescued from their homes by emergency services.
Many have been left to shelter in situ unable to leave their properties.
According to tracking site poweroutage.us, more than 75,000 residents were without power as of Thursday morning.
