Three mile closure of major road to take place next week

A MAJOR road is set to close for three miles next week in order for bridge works to take place.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential bridge expansion joint replacement on the A82 at Leven Bridge from Monday, December 9 to December 11 from 8pm to 6am each night.

The work requires a three-mile stretch of the road to be closed during this time.

A diversion will be in place for traffic travelling eastbound through the A811 at Stoneymollan Roundabout in Balloch to the A813 where traffic will rejoin the A82 at Lomondgate Roundabout.

Access to emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.

Amey says the planned work is weather-dependent and could be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

The work is set to benefit daily travellers of the route by improving the carriageway structures and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
