Gardai have arrested three men after they tried to hide from a checkpoint over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Sunday when a vehicle tried to abscond officers in Co Offaly.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana confirmed the incident in a post on Facebook and explained that a routine checkpoint was in operation when three men travelling in one car turned away.

They left the scene at high speed and so gardai went in search of the car.
They reportedly hid in a rural farmyard, where gardai later located the vehicle.
The area was searched and a short time later all three men were arrested, and the car was seized.
As it is an offence to refuse to stop at a garda checkpoint, these men now face prosecution in front of a judge.
The post confirmed that: “Offaly Roads Policing Unit out and about yesterday.
“Three males travelling in a car turned from away from a checkpoint. The driver drove away at speed and they hid in a rural farmyard. Area searched and vehicle seized.
“Three males arrested. prosecutions pending.”
