Manchester City enjoyed the perfect afternoon at the Etihad Stadium as they beat Liverpool 4-1.
The Blues had the better of the opening stages but went behind on 17 minutes. As City looked for an offside flag that never came, Mohamed Salah fired past the despairing dive of Ederson.
City regrouped though and levelled ten minutes later through Julian Alvarez. Pep Guardiola's side started the second 45 on fire and were in front less than minute after coming back out as Kevin De Bruyne tapped home Riyad Mahrez's cross.

Gundogan effectively put the game beyond doubt on 53 minutes as he fired home following Alvarez's effort being blocked. Jack Grealish would wrap the match up with just over 15 minutes remaining as Liverpool were put to the sword.
After a brilliant win, here are three moments you may have missed at the Etihad.
Guardiola celebrates in front of Tsimikas
Despite going behind early doors, City never panicked and Guardiola appeared to be enjoying himself on the touchline. That was proven when the Blues scored their equaliser.
A well-worked move culminated in Grealish laying the ball to Alvarez to tap home. The Catalan coach could not contain himself on the bench and celebrated wildly as dejected Liverpool substitutes wandered towards him.
An impassioned Guardiola celebrated in front of Kostas Tsimikas but the full-back was having none of it as he blanked the City manager on the way back to the Liverpool bench.
Grealish moment of defensive magic
Grealish enjoyed an impressive first half against Liverpool which would be summed up in a quick few moments. Liverpool came close to making it two as Salah broke the offside trap.
However, getting back was Grealish who did magnificently to intercept and get the ball back to Ederson. A minute later, Grealish was at the other end laying the ball on a plate for Alvarez to level the game.
He would deserve his goal as the winger made it four with 15 minutes remaining. His efforts would be rewarded at the end as he received the man of the match award.
Klopp watches City warm-up
It has become common place before Liverpool matches that Klopp observes the opposition warming up. Things were no different on Saturday as the German boss watched as the Blues passed the ball around.
On his last visit to the Etihad, Erling Haaland had a conversation with the Liverpool boss pre-match but on this occasion Klopp was able to watch Julian Alvarez, who replaced the Norwegian, without obstruction. Unfortunately for him, and his team, he was powerless to stop City.
