Three Liverpool restaurants have been named among the top 10 most popular in the UK for one food item in particular - pancakes.
Pancake Day is this Tuesday, February 21, and while Liverpool has no shortage of incredible restaurants and cafes serving up all sorts of delectable dishes, three venues have impressed for their pancakes.
The annual day offers an excuse to tuck into sweet, indulgent American-style pancakes and French crêpes. Known in the religious calendar as Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day is a traditional feasting day ahead of Lent - though many non-religious people also partake.

With that in mind, Betway has listed the best spots worth venturing to in order to treat yourself to the fluffy, sugary treats - and three Liverpool restaurants have made the top five. Betway measured popularity with a unique index score generated by the number of hashtags each location has racked up on Instagram, as well as Google and Tripadvisor reviews.
The lower the overall index score, the higher the ranking. Restaurants and cafés from Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff and more placed in the top 10.
Ju Ju's Café in Birmingham came out on top with an overall index score of 13, but Liverpool still proved triumphant. Bold Street Coffee, which serves both sweet and savoury pancakes, came in second place with an index of 21, while Moose Coffee's Dale Street branch finished in fourth place. Pancakes from Brasco Lounge at Mann Island completed the top five.
