Three killed as news helicopter crashes into LA car park

  • At least three people have died after an NBC4 news helicopter crashed into a parking lot in the Chatsworth neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
  • The helicopter went down while covering a fatal collision between a city bus and an SUV that occurred about a mile and a half away, killing at least two people.
  • Firefighters confirmed three fatalities at the scene, including at least one person who was in the parking lot, while a fourth person was transported to hospital.
  • More than 50 firefighters responded to the incident to extinguish fires across four cars and two storage containers ignited by burning wreckage.
  • The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
