The Villupuram police on Wednesday arrested three persons, including a juvenile, on charges of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. The arrested were identified as Sasikumar, 27, and Manikandan, 25.
Police said the Class X girl, studying in a government school in the district, was depressed. A teacher noticed this and enquired her about it, following which the abuse came to light. The teacher immediately alerted Chidlline.
Based on the complaint of Childline, police found that the girl had been abused repeatedly. Senior police officials said more arrests were likely.
