Three friends, Rs 3 lakh & one chai idea: They ditched civil service preparation to start a tea outlet, today their brand has 650+ outlets & earns Rs 100 crore

For many Indians, chai is simply part of the daily routine. But for three friends from Indore, the humble cup of tea became the foundation of a business that has grown into a brand with more than 650 outlets across the world. Anubhav Dubey and Anand Nayak started out with plans that were very different from running a tea business. The two friends were preparing for civil service examinations before deciding to take the entrepreneurial route. Rahul Patidar later joined them in the venture.

In 2016, the trio launched Chai Sutta Bar in Indore. What began with an investment of Rs 3 lakh has since expanded into a large franchise network, with the brand now earning around Rs 100 crore.
