The trial of three police officers – whose violent arrest of Théo Luhaka in the Paris suburbs in 2017 left him permanently disabled – begins in a criminal court on Tuesday.
In February 2017, Théo Luhaka, then aged 22, suffered severe anal injuries from a police telescopic baton used during a stop and search check in the working class suburb of Aulnay-sous-Bois, north of Paris.
