Tragedy struck Houston, Texas, on Monday as Tropical Storm Beryl made its way through the city, claiming the lives of at least three individuals, according to Mayor John Whitmire.

Mayor Whitmire confirmed that one person lost their life when a tree fell during the storm, while another individual tragically perished in a fire caused by lightning strikes associated with the severe weather.
