Several LGBTQ+-focused events have been announced ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest in May.
As part of the EuroFestival - a two-week culture festival that will take over Liverpool - the city is hosting everything from drag queen gigs and catwalk extravaganzas to spoken word and dance performances aimed at the LGBTQ+ community.
The events promised to deliver something “that’s never been seen before”, all whilst celebrating everything Eurovision and everything queer.

Below is everything you need to know about the EuroFestival’s LGBTQ+ events:
EuroCamp will be taking over Chavasse Park in Liverpool ONE for a three-day festival.
Happening from Monday, May 8 to Wednesday, May 10, the events will be free to attend and will take place between 1pm and 9pm daily.
The three-day “queer fantasia” EuroCamp kicks off on a bank holiday Monday, with a Black Gold Arts. Queer artists and allies from African, Caribbean, Asian and indigenous communities will entertain guests by serving up “circus, family catwalk extravaganzas, bands, DJs, strollers, dance, spoken word”.
There will be 50 artists available to watch on the day and there will be performances and walkabout entertainment provided by RubyLemon.
The following day, Tuesday, May 9, sees a “jam-packed day of sensational drag and cabaret talent, paying homage to legendary acts and iconic Eurovision moments as they battle it out for ultimate glory”.
Hosted by Liverpudlian superstar Ms Sharon Le Grand, with live acts including Ginny Lemon, Don One, Midgitte Bardot, Eat Me, Bolly Illusion and more to be announced. DJs include the likes of scouse Lucia Blayke who founded Trans Pride.
On the final day of the festival - Wednesday, May 10 - a cabaret “like no other” will take place, celebrating “all things Eurovision, all things queer and all things fabulous”.
The Liverpool-based LGBTQIA arts organisations Homotopia and DuoVision will be joining forces to deliver HomoVision. Visitors can join host Jonny Woo and an array of guests for a party where everyone’s welcome, to celebrate Eurovision old and new.
Homovision will bring performers from Liverpool, nationally and internationally, and showcase them in the heart of the city.
Those who aren’t able to attend in person can still celebrate online with Queerovision between Monday, May 1 to Sunday, May 14.
From drag kings to Scouse queens, LGBTQ+ music to local activist visionaries, Queerovision is said to capture the “most anticipated international festival of the year during its Liverpool edition”.
The Queer take on Liverpool’s upcoming event, The Eurovision Song Contest, is presented by First Take.
Queerovision will be sharing visual clips on social media and breaking daily coverage of Eurovision whilst capturing the entirety of Liverpool’s Eurovision adventure”.
It will also explore queer identity, community, politics and music, and platform Queer Scouse voices in a festival wrap film.
