Three Colts players upgraded to full participants in final Week 16 practice

Some positive news on the Friday injury report for the Indianapolis Colts was that three key contributors were all upgraded to full participants for the final practice of the week.

Mo Alie-Cox did not participate the first two days of the week with a hip injury, and neither did Matt Gay, who is listed with a neck injury. Ashton Dulin returned to practice on Thursday as a limited participant before being a full participant on Friday.

All three players will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Tennessee.

Alie-Cox popped up on the injury report last Friday with this hip injury and did not practice although he did play against Denver after being questionable. Gay was added to the injury report this week, while Dulin just returned to practice after missing the last two games with an ankle injury he suffered against Detroit in Week 12.

Alie-Cox is a key contributor to the Colts’ running game with blocking being his bread-and-butter, although he does also lead what has been a lack-luster tight end room in the passing game in receiving yards.

After some early season concerns with Gay, particularly from 50-plus yards, he’s put together a very steady season. He’s made all 23 extra point attempts and has missed only one kick since Week 5.

If Dulin can go, he will see an increased role on offense, as will AD Mitchell, with Alec Pierce already being ruled out. The Colts also very much missed Dulin’s contributions on the punt coverage team against Denver.
