Three candidates running in the Republican primary for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District

Annie Black, Chance Bonaventura, and Sam Peters are running in the Republican primary for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District on June 14, 2022. Black and Peters have led in fundraising, media coverage, and endorsements, including an endorsement for both candidates from the Nevada Republican Party.

Black works as a real estate agent and business owner. She served on the Mesquite City Council from 2018 to 2020. She was elected to the Nevada State Assembly in 2020 to represent Assembly District 19. Black’s campaign website said, “Biden-Horsford economic policies are destroying our state and bankrupting Nevadans. I’m running for Congress to get our economy going again.” Black was endorsed by two members of the U.S. House, Rep. Carol Miller (R-W.V.) and House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), and was selected as an On the Radar candidate by the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Peters is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and owns a risk management firm. In 2020, Peters ran in the Republican primary for U.S. House in Nevada’s 4th and lost 35% to 28% to Jim Marchant (R). A Peters campaign ad said Peters “is running for Congress to finish President Trump’s wall, stop illegal immigration, defend our rights, and take on the socialists.” Peters was endorsed by two members of the U.S. House Freedom Caucus, Reps. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), and former Nevada Governor Robert List (R).
