Three British tourists injured at same ski resort in Austria

Three Brits, including an eight-year-old boy, have been injured in ski slope accidents at the same resort in Austria.

A young man, 19, collided with a 59-year-old German tourist on Sunday, while skiing at the Tyrolean ski resort of Obergurgl.

The teenager had to be airlifted to the University Clinic of Innsbruck while the other person involved was taken to the valley with a rescue sledge.

The next day, the eight-year-old boy crashed with a 21-year-old British man.

The child also had to be transported by helicopter to the University Clinic of Innsbruck.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old was able to be treated in Obergurgl, the MailOnline reported.

The identities of the Brits have not been revealed.

In a statement, Tyrol state police said: “Around 10.50am on 18th December 2023, an accident occurred on the red piste number seven in the ski resort of Obergurgl.

“The reason has not yet been determined. A 21-year-old male skier from Great Britain collided with an eight-year-old British boy.

“The child sustained unspecified injuries. He was taken to the University Clinic of Innsbruck with an emergency helicopter.”
