Three American hostages, Edan Alexander, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Keith Siegel, are currently presumed to be alive and held captive by Hamas. The situation is complex, with the likelihood of their release varying due to individual circumstances.
Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old IDF soldier from New Jersey, was stationed near Gaza when he was taken hostage. Due to his military status, it is improbable that he will be among the hostages released in the initial phase of any potential hostage and ceasefire agreement.
