Thousands sign petition for Todd Boehly to sack Chelsea boss Graham Potter after Tottenham loss

A petition from Chelsea fans to see Graham Potter sacked has now passed more than 10,000 signatures as fans show their anger at the recent run of form. Stretching back to November the Blues have won just three of the 16 games played.

It's not just been the results that have led to dissatisfaction within the supports though as only six goals have been scored in that time, a number more than trebled by Marcus Rashford alone. With hopes of finishing in the top four all but gone there is now the need to extend the Champions League run.

Confidence in even this appears to have dissipated though and thousands of fans have made their voices heard on the matter. After booing Potter and his side after the defeat to Southampton last week there has now been another show of frustration online.

In a petition set up by Twitter account @CFCOrash, Blues fans have flocked to sign the document. The statement on Change.org says: "Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and shareholders, this petition is directed at you to please sack Graham Potter. As of this Petition he has 2 wins in 15 games, and has left the fans exhausted and devastated, despite spending hundreds of millions.

"We have immense quality in the squad, however there is one area we can change, which is the coach. For the future of Chelsea Football Club, please sack Graham Potter."

It's not the first time that Chelsea fans have turned to a petition to make their opinions clear with one setup to ban Anthony Taylor from refereeing matches against the club garnering over 100,000 in support following the reverse fixture against Tottenham when he failed to spot a hair pull on Marc Cucurella.

This is a more serious move though, taking an active stance against the manager. Blues fans have been quick to vocalise their anger at previous managers before, outing first team stars Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard in 2015 during Jose Mourinho's slump below mid-table.

Turning completely against the head coach and his methods is a new move though, getting treatment that even Maurizio Sarri didn't get despite cries against his style of football in 2019. Whether Potter is given the time to turn the club's fortunes around remains to be seen.
