Concert organiser Sandy Sweetman is counting down the hours for his first big open air event in more than a year when 2,000 fans are set to descend on the Crichton.
The two-day Doonhame Festival kicks off this Friday and closes at midnight the next day.
Mr Sweetman reckons the two-day festival should be a smash hit with big name bands such as Waterboys, Bad Manners and Toploader plus a host of others appearing at the Dumfries venue.
He said: “This is the first big outdoors event I have run since the Scotland and England game last year when we set up the big screen.
“However, this year following the lifting of Covid restrictions there should be about 2,000 people at the concerts.
“I have been preparing for a while and the only thing I cannot control is the weather.
“Although that looks like being really good.
“The heat wave is on, of course, right now but it is supposed to peak in midweek and return to a more pleasant temperature.”
