- Kensington and Chelsea Council has confiscated over 2,500 abandoned or badly parked rental e-bikes in the past 18 months across the London borough.
- The council has charged e-bike operators more than £210,000 in seizure, storage, and release fees for these bikes.
- Of the confiscated e-bikes, Lime accounts for the majority with 1,624, followed by Forest with 787, while Voi and Bolt had 61 and 44 seized respectively.
- Lime and Forest have since signed agreements with the council, restricting their users to parking in 245 designated spaces within the borough.
- A council representative emphasised that the crackdown aims to ensure safe and accessible streets, urging operators to encourage considerate rider behaviour to prevent further action.
