Thousands hit by power cut in Greater Manchester - full list of postcodes affected

Parts of Greater Manchester have been hit by a huge power cut this morning.

The outage is affecting homes and businesses in the Bolton and Wigan areas. According to Electricity North West, around 2,216 properties are currently without electricity.

The power cut was first reported just after 6.45am. Engineers are on their way to the scene.

According to the Electricity North West website, power is expected to be restored by around 9.50am. Here is the full list of affected postcodes:

A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: "This morning at 7:15am, we received reports of a power cut affecting 2,216 properties across areas of Bolton and Wigan after a goose collided with an overhead line.

"Using our restoration systems, more than 95 per cent of properties had power restored within 45 minutes. Engineers are now on site and aim to restore power to the remaining properties as quickly and as safely as possible."
