PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday said that those who consume liquor are ‘mahapaapi’ (big sinners) and not Indians. He also made it clear he would never favour or give any kind of aid to the family of the victim, in case of death after consuming spurious liquor.
Nitish supported his statement by citing the example of Mahatma Gandhi, who was against alcohol consumption. “One who cannot understand the feelings of Bapu, cannot be a Hindustani. He is not a Bhartiya. He is an incompetent and a sinner,” said Nitish who was participating in the debate on the proposed amendments in the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 in Bihar Vidhan Parishad.
