Thomas Tuchel ended another recent Chelsea hoodoo at Goodison Park on Saturday evening as his side claimed their first win of the Premier League season over Everton.
Jorginho's well-placed penalty on the stroke of half-time ensured the Blues claimed maximum points and their first victory at the Toffees since April of 2017 under Antonio Conte.
There is a nice previous trend for Tuchel that the previous two times Chelsea have won at Everton, they have gone on to win the Premier League title. The 3-0 win under Conte came only a few weeks before they sealed the league at West Brom.

Before that, in August of 2014, Chelsea won an eventful 6-3 encounter with Roberto Martinez's Everton side, with Diego Costa bagging two goals at the start of a title-winning campaign.
Chelsea are not expected to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League this year, with the club hoping to gain some stability following the takeover of Todd Boehly and Clearlake back in May.
"There are also a lot of good things to take away," Tuchel said after the game. "We have struggled in the last years to steal the points here and win, and today we got all three and a clean sheet. From here we go."
