Chelsea are now in advanced talks with Manchester City regarding the signing of defender Nathan Ake. The Blues want to re-sign the Netherlands international as Thomas Tuchel looks to replace the departed Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

football.london understands that talks between Chelsea and City have accelerated in recent days as Tuchel looks to bring in his first defender of the summer window. Ake is open to leaving the Etihad Stadium as he looks for regular first-team football – something he has not been given in Manchester.

Our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News are reporting that City are reluctant to allow Ake to leave the club. The Premier League champions will only allow the Netherlands international to depart should they find a suitable replacement, and at least £50m is offered.
