Thomas Tuchel's love life - messy divorce, young new girlfriend and dressing room gossip

Thomas Tuchel's life has been turned upside down this summer - and not just in terms of his managerial career.

The German was controversially sacked by Chelsea this week after a tough start to their Premier League season and a shocking defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opener.

New owner Todd Boehly has pulled the trigger quickly and given Tuchel his marching orders, just 18 months after he guided the club to Champions League glory and weeks after reported talks to extend his contract.

There is a silver lining for the former PSG boss, who will now having lots of free time to spend with his new girlfriend, who he was spotted on holiday just days after divorcing his wife of 13 years.

And his love life was said to have become dressing room gossip - with players reportedly discussing his young Brazilian partner.

According to The Independent, Tuchel's divorce and new relationship were discussed in the dressing room - and it's claimed some players even changed their perception of the gaffer.

Tuchel married wife Sissi back in 2009 when he was living and working in Germany and the pair have two daughters together, Emma and Kim.

Sissi, who was a journalist, reportedly quit her job at German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung to bring up their family.

She moved to the UK in August last year, several months after her husband got the Chelsea job, and they bought a house together near the club's training ground in Cobham, Surrey.

It was believed that Sissi had a big say on his career choices and gave valuable advice when he was offered managerial jobs.

When he left Dortmund in 2017, Tuchel's wife reportedly went to Paris to look for somewhere for them to live ahead of his appointment at PSG.

But she rarely attended his teams' matches, making her first appearance at an English fixture at the 2021 FA Cup final at Wembley, where Chelsea lost to Leicester City.

Their marriage broke down and in April, it was reported they had separated after 13 years together, with court documents showing Sissi filing for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.

"Sissi and Thomas have tried to avoid splitting but in the end, there was no other way," a source told the Mail on Sunday.

"It is very sad and now it is all about making sure their daughters are the top priority. Papers were lodged last week to get the divorce underway."

The former couple are still in the process of completing their divorce, which has been granted at London's High Court but is awaiting a multi-million pound settlement.

In July, she got confirmation from Mr Justice Mostyn that Tuchel had behaved in such a way that Mrs Tuchel could not reasonably be expected to stay with him.

As for Tuchel, he has already moved on with new partner Natalie Max, a Brazilian mum-of-two who is 13 years younger than the 48-year-old former Blues boss.

Not much is known about the London-based business owner, who was described as a "mum who rocks" and "a real inspiration" on the Yummy Mummy UK website.

Natalie states that her favourite meal to cook for the family is a Sunday Roast and three things she always has in her bag when out with the kids are "wipes, water and credit card".

At the end of July, Tuchel and his new gilfriend were pictured enjoying a holiday in Sardinia at a £20,000-a-night private villa.

He flew straight there after returning from Chelsea's pre-season tour of the USA, and they were seen relaxing on the beach, swimming and eating lunch in a hotel restaurant before getting a boat to the island of Caprera.

A source told the Sun that the duo "held hands at every opportunity", while another remarked that they look "very much in love".

Tuchel will now have plenty of time to spend with his girlfriend after being sacked as Chelsea manager.

He may have guided the Blues to Champions League glory in 2021, but tensions started to mount after a poor start to the season and new owner Todd Boehly has decided a change is needed.

Announcing the news on Wednesday, a club statement read: " Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel.

"On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.

"Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here. As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.

"Chelsea's coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach. There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made."
