Thomas Tuchel asked if Chelsea will sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo Thomas Tuchel Chelsea Christian Eriksen

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel grinned but was coy when asked by a fan if the club will be signing Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Ronaldo, who returned to Old Trafford from Juventus almost a year ago, wants to leave United after the club's disappointing 2021-22 campaign. United failed to qualify for the forthcoming season's Champions League after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who scored 24 goals last term, is understood to be frustrated with the lack of progress United have made in the transfer market. He is also understood to be upset at the squad being forced to accept a 25 per cent reduction in their salaries.
