Thomas Tuchel hopes that Chelsea can complete the signing of Marc Cucurella as soon as lunchtime on Friday with the Blues currently processing the paperwork for the Spaniard. The Brighton full back is expected to head to Stamford Bridge in a £62 million deal.
Cucurella would become the club's fourth first-team signing of the summer following Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chuckwuemeka and Raheem Sterling, with Tuchel highlighting the versatility of the defender as a bonus. Levi Colwill is set to head in the opposite direction, on loan to the Amex.
Tuchel noted that the 19-year-old Blues' prospect has the option to find playing time elsewhere from the club, should Chelsea be able to secure a deal for Cucurella.
