Thomas Tuchel may already have his own Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel has already discovered his own Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the form of Christian Pulisic amid his £310million attacking dilemma.

Pulisic, 23, had only clocked up 1,057 minutes this term for the European Champions prior to travelling to his home country to compete for the USMNT during this recent mini break.

Most of those minutes have come either when he has been shoehorned into filling in at right-wing-back or on the rare occasions, playing on the right in a front three.

As shown by what he has done during this most recent international break for his home nation in the qualifier against Honduras, the ex-Borussia Dortmund star scored in a 25 minute cameo from the bench when he was brought on to play on the left of a front three.

So, is Tuchel potentially not getting the best out of a player who in on par with the red hot Liverpool duo in certain metrics this season that have gone unnoticed until now?

Perhaps, but what's even more telling is the player's own feeling on how he views his future in west London and it's no surprise to hear the 23-year-old echo Romelu Lukaku's tactical concerns in relation to how the German is coaching the attacking players.

"I have not always been playing in the positions I want to play in," he said in a press conference ahead of the two USA games during this current min-break for the World Cup Qualifiers via the Mirror.

"But I think it is a good quality to be versatile and able to play in all kinds of positions and have different strengths on the pitch.

"I have learned a lot and I'm ready to hopefully be in a spot over the next few games that I'm more comfortable in."

He then added: "Obviously it has been up and down this year, for sure. Not exactly where I want to be and how I want things to be right now.

"I'm just going to keep going and it doesn't affect me when I come here. So I am excited to be here."

These comments coincide well with The Athletic's revelation that there was some unrest amongst the attacking cohort, with some players reportedly considering their futures.

But according to a recent graphic released by The Athletic comparing all the attackers in the Premier League, Pulisic and Timo Werner rank ahead of Mane and Salah for number of off the ball runs made by Premier League forwards this season.

The pair also rank highly when analysing how many times they have received the ball under pressure this season.

Both rank highly in each of the aforementioned categories which just illustrates the idea that maybe both need Tuchel to take a chance more on their specialities by playing them in preferred positions, with Plymouth the first opportunity for this in Werner's case.
