After a challenging season, Thomas Tuchel guided his Chelsea side to third in the Premier League, confirming Champions League football for the next campaign. However, given the difficulties they faced, the German coach will be hoping to add to his squad over the break.
Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are set to leave the club as free agents, while the manager has hinted at the need for sweeping changes across his side. “We are hoping (to be back to normal) but at the moment we are not.
“You ask many times if we have a delay in approaching players and making plans, of course, a huge delay. We are affected by it, players are going out. We are rebuilding, not improving the squad. We are rebuilding. This is always challenging but we are up for the challenge."

With the transfer window on the horizon, a number of players have been linked with moves in and out of Stamford Bridge. Here’s a quick look at some of those.
Adrien Rabiot move
Chelsea are interested in a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Frenchman is believed to be free to leave the Bianconeri, with just one-year remaining on his contract.
A transfer for the 27-year-old would see him reunite with Tuchel, whom he played under in his time at PSG.
Jules Kounde pursuit
Chelsea have no interest in giving up their pursuit of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, according to Fabrizio Romano. It comes after the Spanish side confirmed that another centre-back, Diego Carlos, had left to join Aston Villa.
The journalist claims that both Tuchel and Kounde are keen for the move to be pushed through once sanctions are lifted.
Reece James eyed
Manchester City are interested in a move for Reece James, according to the Daily Mail. The report claims that Pep Guardiola believes he could be the successor to Kyle Walker in his defence.
However, reports have also suggested that the Blues will kick off talks over a new contract with the England international once the takeover is confirmed.
