Thomas Tuchel has claimed that his time at Chelsea 'came to an end too early' as he speaks on his exit for the first time. The 49-year-old was sacked following the Blues' defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League group stage opener.
According to The Times, Tuchel would have been dismissed from his post as Chelsea's head coach regardless of the result in Croatia. The report states that the motive for sacking the German was not solely due to on-field performances amid several behind-the-scene issues that convinced Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali to draw the curtains on his tenure.
It's said that Tuchel was not happy with the 'extra responsibility' and 'more power' in the summer transfer window. The Times added that the departure of former technical and performance advisor Petr Cech upset him.

Speaking to Sports Star, Tuchel broke his silence on his 'early' exit from Chelsea, revealing his shock at the sacking. He said: "I loved every day at Chelsea.
"It came to an end too early for me, but it was out of my hands. This is also what you sign up for."
Tuchel has, unsurprisingly, been subject to great interest from a handful of clubs who have been looking to employ a new head coach. The German was reportedly lined up to replace Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa, to which he declined.
The former Chelsea boss shed light on his future plans. He said: "I haven't made a decision yet.
"It is now time for me to take a break. Some clubs have been calling my manager, but we agreed that he would not call me here for these past 18 days."
Boehly explained why he sacked Tuchel, speaking at the SALT Conference in the United States last month. The American billionaire said: "When you take over any business, You have to make sure you are aligned with the people in the business, and Tuchel is obviously extremely talented and obviously someone who had great success with Chelsea.
"Our vision for the club was to find a manager who really wanted to collaborate with us, a coach who really wanted to collaborate. There are a lot of walls to break down at Chelsea. Before, the first team and academy didn't really share data, and didn't share information about where the top players were coming from.
"Our goal is to bring a team together; all of that needs to be a well-oiled machine. The reality of our decision was that we weren't sure that Thomas saw it the same way we saw it.
"No one is right or wrong. We just didn't have a shared vision for the future. It wasn't about Zagreb. It was about the shared vision of what we wanted Chelsea to look like. It wasn't a decision that was made because of a single win or loss. It was a decision that we thought was the right vision for the club."
