Bayern Munich ace Thomas Muller had his house burgled during their empathic 2-0 victory over Barcelona on Tuesday.
The legendary forward, who celebrated his 33rd birthday with the win, came home to find more than six digits' worth of goods stolen from his villa in the small town of Wettlkam, just south of Munich. Muller and his family's residence was broken into around 10pm, according to BILD, who police revealed details of the incident to.
Cash, jewellery and valuables were all stolen while the Germany international was playing at the Allianz Arena, and the report adds that there's currently no trace of the burglars - who allegedly escaped across a field - and investigations remain ongoing.
The Oberbayern Sud police released a statement to German media which read: "On Tuesday evening, several unknown perpetrators apparently broke into a family home in the municipality of Otterfing and stole cash, jewellery and valuables in the mid-six-figure range. Despite massive police searches, there is no trace of the burglars. The Miesbach detective is investigating."
Muller made a swift exit from the Allianz Arena following the full-time whistle, skipping the post-match media duties which he regularly undertakes as Bayern's vice-captain. The two-time Champions League winner cited a "private appointment" for his rushed departure from the stadium, with most believing it was for a birthday party.
Muller, whose team are now top of Group C after two wins from as many games, even tweeted after the tie: "2:0 birthday win against Barcelona. Interesting match with goals of Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane."
It was indeed an "interesting match," with a resilient Bayern getting the better of Barcelona, who dominated the first half but failed to score. The Bavarians punished their opponents by netting twice within nine minutes of the restart, as Hernandez's planted header and an electric goal from Sane gave manager Julian Nagelsmann 's side all three points.

Bayern were also able to thwart former teammate Robert Lewandowski on his return to Munich, having left the Bundesliga giants this summer after eight years of masterful service. "In the first half, Barcelona had the better chances than us - our final ball wasn't quite there," Nagelsmann admitted. "Things got much better in the second half, and our efficiency made the difference today."
Meanwhile, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez was less than pleased at full-time and believes that his men should've come away from Munich with all three points. "We were better than Bayern in many aspects. We have matched them in intensity, rhythm and physicality," a furious Xavi claimed. "In the first half we were excellent with the ball, but I'm pissed off because today was a day to win here.
"No way should our opponent be allowed to score from a failure of marking at a corner when we have the match under control. Or to score down the middle on a counter attack. We must learn from these mistakes."
