Thomas Frank has pledged his future to Brentford despite admiring glances from Premier League rivals.
Brentford boss Frank has been linked with Brighton and Leicester in the past week and, despite the defeat to Arsenal, took it as a huge compliment even if he insists he is not interested.
When asked about the links after the Arsenal defeat, Frank said: “Very simple answer. I’m here at Brentford, very happy. Very happy here at Brentford.
“Like I said with Arsenal before, they showed a lot of respect and we must have done something well here.”
Frank also insisted it is not a distraction for him or his players. “Can’t speak for the players, but I’m reading very little, these rumours,” said Frank.
“I’ve been told to be a little aware of it if you get questions and of course it’s nice to be linked with it because it’s something we have done here and done well. That’s positive.”
Brentford had an off day while Arsenal were at their best and Frank admitted it needed the opposite for his side to cause an upset, but said the scoreline flattered Arsenal even though he insisted the visitors deserved to win.
Frank added: "A big thing to remember is that it’s never as good as it looks and it’s never as bad as it feels.
"For example, when we beat Man United 4-0 it was well deserved but probably not a 4-0 and today when we lost 3-0 to Arsenal, it was well deserved but maybe not as dominant as 3-0.
“They are the in-form team with Man City who were top of the table and have gone back to the top of the table and to get anything we had to perform at a 10/10.
“But you could also see how much it meant to Arsenal, they knew it was difficult. Look how they celebrated after the first goal, big huddle, long time down there.
You see Gabriel Jesus going down with cramp at the end and that shows they had to work very, very hard.”
