Dublin Live produces several videos every day for our audience, but there was one video this year that really grabbed your attention - and it might leave you a little surprised.
We have covered the war in Ukraine, tragic deaths, major protests, Dermot Kennedy on Grafton Street and interviews with Irish celebs, but none of these got close to one particular video. In March of this year, our reporter took to the streets to ask Dubs one important question - what is their favourite Irish song. And the video got hundreds of thousands of views on our Facebook page.
In the video, we received a variety of answers but one famous Dublin musician reigned supreme and it was none other than Sheriff Street's very own Luke Kelly. One woman told Dublin Live her favourite song was "The Town I Loved So Well" by Luke Kelly and the Dubliners.

When asked why she choose that song she said: "Because my mother came from Sheriff Street and so did he." Another proud Dubliner said her most liked song was Luke Kelly's "Scorn Not His Simplicity".
She added: "[I like it] as it is a famous Dublin song. It’s beautiful. It’s about a child with Down’s Syndrome. It’s really touching."
