This One-Off Ferrari 12Cilindri Was Designed By Korean Artists

the breakdown

  • This Ferrari Tailor Made 12Cilindri was designed by South Korean artists.
  • Four artists shaped the paint, interior, and details.
  • It blends an 830-hp V12 with a Yoonseul iridescent finish.

Ferrari is showcasing a one-off Tailor Made 12Cilindri that pushes the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and personalization to its limit. Created through the exclusive Tailor Made program, the car was developed specifically for the South Korean market. And it looks lovely.

The project is the result of a collaboration spanning three continents. Four South Korean artists contributed to the final design: Daehye Jeong, Hyunhee Kim, the duo GrayCode and Jiiiiin, and TaeHyun Lee.

Europe was represented by the Ferrari Styling Center, while North America contributed via the editorial team and creative network of Cool Hunting. Coordination was led by curator JaeEun "Jane" Lee, together with the design and development departments at Ferrari.

Over nearly two years, the team worked to connect Ferrari engineering with Korea’s artistic and cultural identity. The result is a unique 12Cilindri that stands out at first glance thanks to its exclusive Yoonseul paint job.

The specially developed transition color draws on Korean tradition, blending references to Celadon ceramics with the modern energy of Seoul. Depending on the light, the iridescent shade shifts from green to purple with blue accents, evoking sunlight on the sea—known in Korean as "Yoonseul."

A central interior design element comes from textile artist Daehye Jeong, winner of the 2022 Loewe Foundation Craft Prize. Her work in handwoven horsehair is internationally recognized. For Ferrari, she created an iconic pattern realized in a new three-dimensional fabric, used in a Ferrari for the first time. The material appears on the seats, floors, and other cabin surfaces.

The pattern is also screen-printed into the glass roof, creating a distinctive interplay of light and shadow inside the cabin. A handwoven artwork made from Mongolian horsehair also adorns the dashboard—another first, as an original art object is permanently integrated into the interior.

Hyunhee Kim reinterprets traditional Korean objects using transparent materials. Her work shapes numerous details on the car, including the Scuderia Ferrari shields, wheel center caps, model lettering, and the Cavallino Rampante.

Her signature also appears inside, including on a modified center tunnel and a handmade dedication plaque with calligraphic script. For the trunk, Kim designed a traditional storage object that can be used as luggage and includes a specially designed Ferrari key.

White serves as a unifying motif, referencing the work of TaeHyun Lee. The artist is known for modern interpretations of traditional lacquer techniques. His vision led to white brake calipers—offered on a production Ferrari for the first time—as well as white shift paddles.

The duo GrayCode and Jiiiiin, meanwhile, translated the sound of Ferrari’s V12 into a visual form. The engine’s distinctive audio signature was converted into a graphic pattern applied to the bodywork using a darker variant of the Yoonseul paint.

The technical foundation for this rolling artwork is the Ferrari 12Cilindri with a front-mounted 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12. The engine produces 830 horsepower, revs to 9,500 rpm, and accelerates the two-seater from 0–62 miles per hour in around 3.0 seconds. Top speed is over 211 mph.

Motor1's Take: This is the most interesting Tailor Made Ferrari one-off to date. The iridescent paint and subtle styling cues take the already lovely 12Cilindri up another notch.
