Trends can have a time limit. Even if said "trend" is actually a label. See UGG. The cozy boot brand reached peak popularity in the early 2000s. It seemed like every single celebrity was snapped rocking the boots practically everywhere they went. Then they just went away. But, much like its comfortable cousins Crocs, UGG is experiencing a bit of a resurgence thanks to a few fashion folk.
Fashion designers have been breathing new life into the brand for several years. Back in the spring of 2017, then-Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott rolled out a fiery collaboration. Phillip Lim followed that fall with a more subdued offering. Y/Project's boots were slouchy and edgy, as expected. While Sacai gave new meaning to the term "sock boots."
That's just the tip of the collab iceberg. UGG has also teamed up with Eckhaus Latta, Molly Goddard and several times with Telfar. Actually, for the first Telfar pairing in fall of last year, it was the shearling-lined bags that were the real stars of the show.
Now we can add another name to the list. Collina Strada has teamed up with UGG on a selection of sandals and clogs. Naturally, designer Hillary Taymour made sure the collection was quirky and colorful, just like her runway collections. There are fun floral patterns, animal illustrations and even spikes.
The silhouettes are also very of the moment. Choose from Mary Janes, strappy wrap flatforms and slingback clogs. Prices run from $225 for the aforementioned flatforms to $300 for those sure-to-be-popular Mary Janes. UGG collabs have a history of selling out so it's best to get your favorite pair(s) tout de suite. Shop the collection on both UGG and Collina Strada's websites.
