This Morning viewers joke Vernon Kay's 'QR code' top needs 'to be burned'

Viewers of ITV's breakfast show This Morning, were left less than impressed with Vernon Kay's choice of attire as they tuned into Wednesday's show.

Joined by co-host Rochelle Humes, the father-of-two fronted the latest edition of the daytime staple - but his choice of t-shirt left fans divided online.

Vernon, 48, opted to wear a short-sleeved polo featuring a number of tiny squares in a navy, pale blue, grey and white colourway - which left watching consumers saying he looked like a 'QR code'.

The Mirror reports that one tweeted: "Vernon dressed like a QR code today #ThisMorning," while another, added: "Vernon.. that shirt deserves to be burned #ThisMorning,".

A third, joked: "#ThisMorning Warning Vernon's shirt may trigger seizures." However, not all were left in awe of Vernon's style, with some taking to social media to complement the host's attire.

Another viewer, penned: "Vernon Kay’s shirt is pretty wild. I want one! #ThisMorning."

This follows on after Vernon spoke out about being smacked with a ruler when he was a schoolboy. During a discussion on Tuesday's show, the host spoke about how a school in Missouri is bringing back physical punishment for misbehaving students - unpleasantly recalling an instance in which he was hit with the measuring aid.

"I remember getting the ruler and I think the pain still stays with me...They used to make you arch your hand," he said as he demonstrated it for them, before adding: "It was just that bit there, whack!"

Camilla then asked him: "Did it stop you from being naughty though Vernon?" to which he replied: "Absolutely not!"

"He's still naughty now," Rochelle interjected before saying: "No one needs to be touching my child with a paddle, that's all I'm saying!"

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
