This Morning's Phillip Schofield was interrupted by Vanessa Feltz today as he tried to shut down talk about Prince Harry.
There has been much discussion about Prince Harry wearing a morning suit for the funeral of the monarch. He released a statement through his spokesperson, where he confirmed he would not be wearing military uniform for the Queen's funeral.
During the chat, Phil tried to shut down conversations about Harry's choice of outfit, but Vanessa Feltz - who was a guest on the show today - defied him and continued to talk over him about the suit choice. Phil later defended Prince Harry, and praised his "elegant" statement on the matter as he called for the focus to be on the Queen.
Speaking with the show's guests today, host Phil explained: "So as we discussed, there's an element of it being a bit unnecessary about the clothes or the uniform that you are or aren't able to wear."
Matthew Wright, a panellist, then went on to give his opinion, adding: "Unneccesary is the word to me. Obviously, members of the Royal Family made an exception for Prince Andrew. I guess I can understand that but I think if you're going to make an exception for him, then surely you can find an exception for Harry. It doesn't really matter."
Holly then read out about the statement from a spokesperson for Prince Harry, which said how he wanted the focus to be on his grandmother rather than on what clothes he would be wearing.
"Deep down he'd want to wear his uniform," Camilla Tominey said, "If the Duke himself is saying it's not important, then let's move on."
Phil then went on to say: "And that's exactly what we'll do," before he was interrupted by Vanessa who wanted to share her own opinion on the events and her support for Prince Harry over his spokesperson's comment.
She said as she gave her verdict: "It's one of those very difficult things. Does Harry stay quiet or say nothing or does he allude to it which of course focuses attention on it. You can see what a difficult position he's in."
Phil continued: "There are many that would say that he can't do anything right. But that to me is a very elegant statement."
