This Morning's Rochelle Humes left feeling sick over 'hoax' phone call to ITV show

A near speechless Rochelle Humes admitted to 'feeling a bit sick' after a phone call came into This Morning on Wednesday, which viewers at home were convinced was a hoax at the show's expense.

For the third consecutive day and with Holly Willoughby still off sick with shingles, Rochelle joined ITV colleague Phillip Schofield in the studio, to talk about the big news stories of the day, interview celeb guest Jesy Nelson and oversee a cooking demonstration of the 'Coronation Quiche.'

But Wednesday's This Morning was gifted its most entertaining and frankly bizarre moment when Rochelle and Phillip were joined by well known therapists, The Speakmans, to lead a phobia on trying to cure people's phobias. After helping the first of the day's callers, Emma, with trying to come to terms with her her fear of heights before a trip to adventure attraction Go Ape for her husband's birthday, The Speakmans then listened to a man called Colin who claimed to have an irrational phobia of his and other people's ears.

Colin said that he was so disgusted by his ears that he never wanted to see them and, as a result, had never had his hair cut shorter than his shoulders for 30 years. When pressed on just how severe his phobia was, Colin told Phillip that his ears 'made him feel sick.'

Trying to stay fully professional, Eva Speakman tried to establish a 'foundation' to Colin's phobia from his childhood and, after he said his parents were huge on cleanliness, she told him: "You've been giving your ears a bit of a hard time and everyone else's because what you've actually done is blame them for making you get told off," asking: "Was it your dirty ears that was the problem or was it your mum? What did your ears do wrong?"

Things took an even more bizarre turn when, at the end of the call, Eva's husband Nick asked Colin to try and touch his ears, with the sounds of him wrenching then loudly sounding out down the phone, prompting Rochelle to look alarmed, as she admitted that it was making her feel sick.

Twitter was awash with reactions to the call from the moment Colin started speaking, with the majority of viewers convinced he was a prankster. Calling out the apparent 'hoax' one viewer tweeted: "Colin, you had us going for a little while but the acting at the end was awful."

A second responded: "Colin, take a bow...there's probably a load of lads he works with rolling around in the floor laughing right now."

There were some people who thought Colin was genuine though, with a third posting: "I'm going to hell because I was creased up laughing at Colin gagging as he touched his ear."
