Phillip Schofield will remain absent from This Morning for the rest of the week, it has been confirmed, with Alison Hammond continuing to stand in for him.
Right at the end of last Friday's show, which she hosted with Dermot O'Leary, Alison announced that she'd be 'back on Monday,' fuelling speculation just who out of Phillip and Holly Willoughby she'd be replacing and then over the weekend it was revealed that it would indeed be Phillip she'd be deputising for, as ITV viewers were quick to react to the news.
Alison fronted This Morning alongside Phillip's usual presenting partner in crime Holly on Monday, with the new Great British Bake Off host starting the live episode by saying: "It's so good to be here, it's lovely. It's nice actually, start of the week and you are here," to which Holly replied: "It's lovely having you here."

Things then turned rather chaotic as the pair staged a mock police chase around the studio, with Alison tackling Holly to the ground, leaving the host worried that shempay have flashed her underwear to millions of people watching at home.
First revealing she'd be replacing Phillip non Friday, Alison didn't elaborate on just how many days she'd be filling in for, but it's now been confirmed that it will be for the whole week.
While not addressing the reason why, Holly did address his absence, by saying: "Phillip is having the week off so all the adults have left the building and Alison has come! Is it weird being here on a Monday?"
Alison getting the 'promotion' many This Morning fans have been calling out for for a while has become a big talking point online, with one viewer taking to Twitter to post: "I sincerely hope Alison takes over the show and replace both him and holly."
