Phillip Schofield has issued a statement ahead of today's This Morning.
ITV's flagship daytime programme has been rocked with controversy as the 61-year-old broadcaster stepped away from the show amid reports an alleged feud with Holly Willoughby reached fever pitch. Mr Schofield quit the channel with immediate effect last week after he admitted to having an affair with a runner while working on the show.
This Morning is set to return for the first time since Mr Schofield quit the channel. He has taken to social media for the first time since his exit to launch a defence of the show.

In a statement posted to his Instagram story, he said: "Now I no longer work on This Morning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it's the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.
"This Morning is the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity. You can listed to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it is a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard working people."
