Phillip Schofield stepped into calm things down on This Morning as Vanessa Feltz and Matthew Wright became embroiled in a spat about the Royal Family.
As he stays silent on the 'queue jump' accusations against himself and co-host Holly Willoughby, following their arrival at Westminster Hall on Friday, Phillip fronted the show alongside Holly on Wednesday, a day after she issued a statement on their behalf to deny any wrong doing.
Holly assured ITV viewers that "they would never jump a queue," as she explained that they gained access to a separate queue to the one the likes of David Beckham and Kelly Holmes lined up, for 'reporting purposes only,' along with other members of the media. The presenting pair headed to Westminster to report on the Queen's coffin lying in state there before her funeral and on Wednesday, talk turned to what will happen to the Royals without Her Majesty on the throne.

Regular contributors Vanessa and Matthew joined Phillip and Holly in the studio for the discussion on a 'slimmed down monarchy' and it quickly became apparent that they held very different views, with Matthew speculating how much all of the ceremony of the past week will have cost, as a time when the country is in the grip of a cost of living crisis.
Vanessa explained that she had spoken to journalists across the world who were emotionally invested in coverage of the Queen's funeral before claiming that King Charles III's coronation to the public would probably be "the cost of a burger" per household. Matthew shot back: "What do I care more about, starving children in my own country or pageantry and tradition? I care about starving children!"
Vanessa replied: "But then you would say the new King is in tune with you as he wants to cut back," adding: "We don't get a vote on whether we have a coronation or not. We have a monarchy so there will be one."
Matthew then questioned the fact that the Royal Family are exempt from paying inheritance tax, to which Vanessa, getting rather personal told him: "You're an adorable guy but you've had an excellent career as a tabloid journalist and the way you speak in headlines shows why you were such a successful tabloid journalist."
He retorted: "But you're the one doing tabloid television Vanessa, banging the drum for the right " And after Holly quipped: "Behave yourselves," Phillip interjected to say: "Let me get between you for a second, you can crack on in a second," before going onto change the subject to reports King Charles III is considering turning Balmoral into a museum in honour of his late mother.
