ITV chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall claims that Phillip Schofield 'repeatedly denied' any affair with a young This Morning colleague, as she faced questions from MPs on Wednesday.
It's now been a month since Phillip left his job as This Morning presenter after 21 years, with him them creating even more of a storm a week later, when he released a statement, admitting to having, what he called an 'unwise but not illegal' relationship with a much younger colleague on the daytime show.
In the immediate aftermath of his confession, Phillip departed ITV with immediate effect and was dropped by his agents, as former This morning co-tar Eammon Holmes alleged that 'senior' ITV staff knew about the affair and that their so-called 'thorough' investigation at the time was anything but.

Dame Carolyn faced questions from MPs alongside ITV managing director Kevin Lygo and general counsel and company secretary Kyla Mullins about Phillip's highly publicised exit during Wednesday morning's Culture, Media and Sport Committee session in Parliament. She conceded that the imbalance of power and dynamics' made the relationship between the host and the young crew member 'deeply inappropriate' but denied that This Morning and ITV bosses new about the affair at the time.
She told MPs: "We were repeatedly told nothing was happening" and that both men "formally and informally," denied anything was going on. Dame Carolyn added: "There was only hearsay and rumour and speculation... Nobody on the board would have turned a blind eye to something as serious as this."
In the session, the chief exec also said there was no 'NDA or gagging order' to stop the young man involved from speaking out, also explaining that Phillip was no receiving counselling and she was concerned for his welfare.
