This Morning's Monday hosts confirmed by ITV following Phillip Schofield exit

ITV's This Morning has confirmed who will host the show on Monday, May 22 following Phillip Schofield's exit. The presenter has quit the show after more than 20 years on the famous sofa following a rumoured feud with co-host Holly Willoughby.

Following the breaking news, which was confirmed with a statement from Phillip on Saturday, May 20, ITV confirmed Holly wouldn't be returning to the programme until Monday, June 5 having taken an early half-term holiday starting Monday, May 22.

It left many wondering who would replace the pair on the popular daytime series which airs Monday to Friday between 10am and 12:30pm. Now, it has been confirmed to WalesOnline that Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will host tomorrow's This Morning.

The duo usually present the show on a Friday after they took over the role from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford in January 2021. It's not clear who Holly will host alongside when she returns in June, with ITV only stating she will co-present with "members of the This Morning family".

In a statement yesterday, Holly said: "It's been over 13 great years presenting This Morning with Phil and I want to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his knowledge, his experience and his humour. The sofa won’t feel the same without him."

Phil's own statement read: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story. Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

"So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."
