Josie Gibson apologised to This Morning co-host Craig Doyle as a comment she made led to the show taking 'an unexpected turn' on Tursday.
Ex Big Brother winner Josie and former Holiday presenter Craig are the new double act in charge of the ITV daytime programme this week, as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby continue their extended break for summer. Craig was singled out for high praise from many viewers as he returned to the This Morning studio on Monday, with some calling for him to be a full time replacement for Phillip.
Josie and Craig, who has previously hosted with Alison Hammond, are getting an extended run at the helm this week and the two have hit the ground running, with their on-screen chemistry delighting fans. Near the start of the show, the presenters were joined by Simon McCoy and Sonia Sodha to talk about the big new stories of the day.

After kicking things off with a discussion about Monday night's Conservative Leadership debate, the topic moved to comments made by a British army officer that the body positivity movement 'promotes obesity,' and the idea of 'I am what I am' is dangerous.
Sonia admitted that, while she is a fan of Love Island, she questioned the body representation on the ITV show, saying that many of the teenagers who watch it should be able to feel comfortable with their own bodies and not think the physiques of the Islanders was 'the norm.'
Talking about people's diet, she added: "The problem is out palates expect to have all this sugar, salt and fat in foods and the healthy stuff just didn't taste as good, so I think it's something that Government needs to get the industry to act on together."
Rounding things off, Josie then looked across at Simon and remarked: "Simon, I love a dad bod. I think dad bods are so underrated," before putting her hand on gym fit co-star Craig's arm and telling him: "Sorry Craig," as he replied: "I am working on it, don't you worry about that!"
Looking slightly bashful, Simon chuckled: "Today's taken an unexpected turn, I've gone all funny" as Sonia joked: "What a great compliment to start your day!"
