Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield nearly missed the start of This Morning today as they broke down in hysterical laughter.
The presenting duo kicked off the ITV show today in fits of giggles as they admitted they nearly missed the start of the show due to Holly's error. Both of them couldn't stop laughing as they recalled the conversation they had had just moments before.
Holly and Phil get a count in before they start the show to give them enough time to get ready, so as soon as they go live on air, they're ready to present the show. However, Holly admitted she wasn't ready in time as she was a bit "giddy knickers" over a guest.
As the show opened, and the cameras started rolling, Holly and Phil were both in hysterics as they took a moment to compose themselves before they started the programme.
"Good morning," Holly said, as Phil admitted that Holly wasn't concentrating, which she quickly confirmed.
Explaining whilst they were laughing, Phil said: "With 20 seconds to go - obviously we get a bit of a warning it's going to happen. Holly's sat on the sofa and we're all having a chat and she says, what are we counting to? Oh, just the start of the show!"
Holly then excitedly revealed why she was unable to concentrate - and it was all to do with an upcoming guest.
"I'm a bit giddy knickers today because we've got Will Ferrell into today. It's elf himself in the studio. Forget elf on the shelf," she said, before Phil chimed in to add: "It's elf on the sofa," as they both laughed along with the crew.
Later, Holly and Phil were joined by Hollywood stars Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer, who chatted about their new movie, Spirited. Following the chat, an excited Holly said she was thrilled to meet one of her "heroes" in Will.
"There's a real ease when we work together," Holly told The Mirror and other press about the pair's friendship and presenting prowess together, "It's not like you're going in like, oh we just need to find our feet or rhythm, it's an absolute given."
Phil agreed, as he called Holly his "best mate", adding: "I agree. The lovely thing is, I get to spend even more time with my best mate. It's lovely and I adore Holly completely and absolutely and to be able to joke around together in the mornings."
