Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were forced to offer an explanation to viewers at the start of Monday's This Morning after a change was made to the show's iconic theme tune, to the delight of the two hosts.
As controversy over them apparently 'queue jumping' to go into Westminster Hall earlier this month starts to die down, after a denial from This Morning bosse s and Holly herself that they did anything wrong, the main presenting duo were back in action at the start of a new week. Lorraine Kelly briefly spoke to the cheery looking pair as she ended her own ITV on Monday, before This Morning's live broadcast started minutes later.
However, those who tuned into the opening moments of the award-winning daytime programme were left thinking they were hearing things within seconds of titles rolling and that was down to the fact that the theme sounded remarkably different. The instantly recognisable instrumental was a million miles away from its usual format, sounding a lot slower and toned down to have fans are used to hearing it.

All was revealed as cameras then cut away from the title sequence and into the studio, to reveal a harpist playing the theme. As they ended their performance, Phillip and Holly then appeared behind the presenting desk to explain that the musician, Alis Huws, was 'the King's official harpist,' with Phillip adding that she had played for the Royal Family on numerous occasions.
Phillip told Alis she should "come back every day," as Holly heaped praise on he, but viewers at home were divided in opinion over the harp, with one fan taking to Twitter to post: "Harp sounds nice," but another blasting: "What's this harp s**?" Referring to the queue jumping controversy, a third reacted: "I’m cackling that they’re playing a f**king harp to cleanse Holly and Phil’s awful behaviour."
