Alison Hammond admitted she'd been hit with 'imposter syndrome' ahead of going for victory at this year's National Television Awards, with the This Morning star in the running for the Best Presenter accolade.
While she is now a regular on the ITV show, it was as a contestant on Big Brother that Alison first shot to fame in the summer of 2022, as a star of the Channel 4 programme's third series, alongside the likes of the late Jade Goody and that year's winner, Kate Lawler. After her earlier than expected exit from the Big Brother house, Alison landed on her feet with a guest role on This Morning and is now the show's Friday host, sharing presenter duties with Dermot O'Leary.
While This Morning's main hosts, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby haven't made the cut for Best Presenter at the NTAs this year, Alison is on the shortlist, alongside Bradley Walsh, Graham Norton and of course Ant and Dec, who have won the trophy 20 years in a row.

While the Geordie duo are tipped to make it win number 21 on Thursday, they won't be at the London, after both testing positive for Covid. And, as colleagues Phillip and Holly talked up her chances of National Television Awards victory, Alison admitted she was in shock to even be nominated.
Joining Phillip and Holly in the This Morning studio, she said: "I think I've just got that imposter syndrome. It's just so weird. I'm seeing it from the outside and I'm like 'is this really real?
"I've been to that awards ceremony so many times and I'm alright sitting in the background and letting other people take the limelight."
Interrupting her, Holly told her: "You shouldn't be alright with that; you're been doing it a really long time." In response, Alison remarked: "It's just nice to be nominated. I know everyone says it, but it's such a moment. It's a defining moment you know. I feel like I'm standing on the shoulders of giants in a way. So many people didn't have the chance to get into that category and you guys (the viewers) pushed me through to get me into that category.
"It feels so weird: Graham Norton, Bradley Walsh, our Geordie duo, who are just incredible and I'm sitting there. It's just so weird."
