Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were left powerless on Friday, as This Morning was briefly taken over by guests who'd 'invaded' the show's gallery as camera rolled.
After a spell that has seen Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle and Holly Willoughby, on her return from Glastonbury, all host the programme, usual Friday duo Alison and Dermot were back at the helm for the fifth and final live broadcast of the week, on the eve of London Pride. And there was a fierce and fabulous start to proceedings, in honour of the annual event, when the presenters were joined in the This Morning studio, by drag queen collective The Globe Girls, who gave a dynamic performance as soon as opening credits were over.
Sharing their excitement for Pride weekend, the trio chatted to Alison and Dermot about what they had planned as Alison quizzed them on how they managed to et from place to place in shows that high. Following that entertaining start to the show, Alison and Dermot cracked straight on with the planned schedule, as they were joined by another guest, Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, before discussing the day's big news stories and concerning reports of a sweetening agent. found in drinks like Diet Coke and in chewing gum being declared a 'possible cancer risk.'

This Morning cut to an ad break shortly before 11am and, when cameras cut back to the studio, the sounds of Cher anthem Believe played out around Alison and Dermot, as they looked clueless as to what was going on. Alison asked her co-host: "Did you choose this song?" and when he denied all knowledge, the culprits were revealed as The Globe Girls, as they were seen controlling things from the gallery, dressed in Priscilla Queen of the Desert style rainbow outfits, as Dermot joked: "To be fair, it doesn't look that different to how it normally does!"
There intervention wasn't done there either, as there was a similar Pride theme to the music throughout the rest of the show, with a burst of Britney Spears' Toxic going down particularly well with Dermot.
